Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of Find a Financial Planner (the "Service"), operated by Boring Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 67 671 943 758). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. What we do

We are an independent comparison and matching service for financial planner providers in Australia. We do not provide financial-planner services ourselves. We connect consumers with third-party providers based on self-reported needs.

2. No provider endorsement

Listings, rankings, and matches reflect our editorial methodology (see /methodology). We do not warrant the quality, legality, fitness for purpose, or outcome of any third-party provider's services. You are responsible for verifying a provider's credentials, quotes, and suitability before engaging them.

3. Consumer use

When you use our match tool you agree:

  • The information you submit is accurate and yours to provide
  • You consent to being contacted by up to 3 matched providers
  • You will not submit false, misleading, or test enquiries
  • You understand we are paid per acknowledged match by providers, not by you

4. Provider terms

Providers who apply via /join agree to separate Provider Terms including:

  • Current registration with relevant regulator (AHPRA, TPB, MARA, ASIC, etc.)
  • Acknowledge each dispatched lead within 10 minutes or forfeit it
  • Contact matched consumers within 24 hours
  • Not to use lead data for purposes outside the specific enquiry
  • Monthly invoicing via Stripe, 14-day terms
  • Permission to reject invalid leads free of charge with reason noted

5. Content + IP

All site content (articles, methodology, data) is owned by Boring Ventures Pty Ltd except the pricing dataset at /llms-full.txt which is licensed CC BY 4.0. Reuse requires attribution to Find a Financial Planner.

6. Disclaimer + limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, we exclude all warranties (express or implied) regarding provider performance, service outcomes, or the accuracy of aggregate data. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the total fees you paid us (which for consumers is $0).

7. Indemnity

You indemnify us against any claim, loss, or damage arising from your breach of these terms or your dealings with providers.

8. Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

9. Changes

We may amend these terms by posting updates here. Continued use after posting constitutes acceptance.
